Write Something or Make Something worth talking about build a reputition

Personal branding it’s something I see a lot from YouTubers and Influencers talk about personal branding. I see it as a reputation in a niche or space.

I did a short podcast on this:

#2 Write something worth talking about Forget Personal Branding

The idea is to be so Good they can’t ignore you.

The original quote came from Benjamin Franklin

Benjamin Franklin who said, “either write something worth reading about or do something worth writing about.”

Christopher Lochhead Personal Branding is bulshit

In the vast landscape of digital noise, personal branding has become the buzzword especially in the realms of YouTube and influencer culture. But let’s get real here—personal branding often feels like a facade, a glossy exterior with little substance beneath.

The truth is, your personal brand isn’t just a snazzy logo or a perfectly curated Instagram feed. It’s what you do, what you create, and the impact you leave in your wake. Your reputation, my friend, is built on the things you do that are genuinely worth talking about.

I’ll admit, I fell into the personal branding trap—a bit of one-upmanship spurred on by the likes of Zuck and the Instagram glitterati. But here’s the kicker: I stumbled upon a tweet that hit home. It spoke of being like Apple—put your head down and work.

I feel that if you can do something worth talking about that is a brand. your reputation is built and people will know you. I may have tried and got sucked in a bit of one upmanship on like thanks to Zuck and Instagram.

I can’t remember but I saw a Tweet on X about being like Apple. Put your head down and work. Make some thing great.
