No the Robot gives a couple of compelling reasons to continue to learn Maya to find word in Highend 3d games and animation films. A lot of old pipelines were setup around this old software since the early 2000s. Change will be hard for these companies.
Of course you can go with the Jack Sparrow version but thankfully there is an indie version now you can subscribe to to learn and build up some of those Maya skills.
