Sometime in 2020 I saw this trailer for Small Soldiers, a sort of fan soft reboot remake of the classic movie Small soldiers.
It’s exciting to see a mature like toy story with action figures duking it out. Commandos vs aliens, with the theme that the “Bad Guys” aliens seem more humane than the elite commandos
Despite the success in of the concept video on YouTube reaching 3.3 Million views. It was not enough.
Forward to 2026, unfortunately the show is cancelled based on this reddit post by @SmallSoldierz (Youtube).
Universal Sudios handed a Ceeast and Deceist Lawyer Letter, so they cannot use the IP and Trademarks
The animated short is made by a company Comadran Studios using unreal engine.

Own your own IP? Easier said but if you can do it you can make whatever you want.
I feel there is a market for this kind of Toy Action style media Hypercharge a game made by a small indie studio proved this. But it was toys duking it out in Fortnite style multiplayer.

There is a game out there Hyper Charge Unboxed which showcase that you can still use the theme of toys fighting it out but not using the IP directly.
