But it will get there.
I am not afraid of AI I feel disappointed at the current state of AI video. I remembered midjourney coming out and it was laughable but this time I am more curious about AI video seeing it advancing quickly in a short time.
But looking specifically at animation it does give some creatives the jitters about future work.

I do feel that that time is not coming yet and AI can’t fully replace but certainly jobs will be threatened not because of the new tech but some Manager will want to cut cost in the production department due to economics.
That monster SORA animation
here is a video by an animator Owen Fern giving notes about the AI generated video of a monster 👹 playing with a flame 🔥
based on the notes it lacks the emotion and intent and have a lot of issues with the background moving around. Maybe in the future it will get there.
Will it end creative work? From Chris Do.
I do agree that it might be time to build on AI. Commit to a goal and the means will materialise or present itself.
It will be cool that the future rewards fist movers.
One day AI will be an art director so it does not matter we will figure it out just don’t be the slowest person.
I remembered an old quote when flash was all the rage but it takes skills to work the program to get the animation you want.
same with AI I do feel it’s a tool that needs to be combined with our understanding and context it’s technically faster than a human but lacks understanding of AI works with humans it will make better result.
Black Dynamite director LeSean Thomas puts it best when he says, “Remember: There’s a difference between good programmers who move things in Flash and good, traditional animators who use Flash.”

Conclusion
But the implications of AI affecting society is concerning with Misinformation and Deep fakes.
Eventually I will incorporate AI workflows into production. It’s still a wait and see approach for me, as I slowly experiment with AI tools.
A new post labour economy might be needed, but that is another topic of discussion. Maybe it will take jobs away maybe not I still feel it’s early days and many business are trying to figure out how to replace workers or increase productivity with it.
