Update: 4/2/2026

I’m disappointed to hear about Adobe’s decision to shut down Adobe Animate. This software has been a staple for animators and creators, providing an invaluable platform for bringing ideas to life through animations. Its versatility in creating interactive content and animations for web and multimedia has made it a go-to tool for professionals and hobbyists alike.
The loss of Adobe Animate is not just the end of a cherished program; it signifies a heartfelt shift in our approach to animation and content creation. It feels as though we are closing the chapter on an era where artists could seamlessly channel their creativity through a tool tailored for their needs. Adobe’s decision leaves us contemplating the future of animation as a field, and it raises questions about the path we will take moving forward together.
Adobe is on their AI Road map to include more AI features in tools and Animate sadly did not make it. I do wish that they will open source it or let others take care of this software.
I am looking into alternatives for photoshop, like Clip Studio and other tools like Affinity, Toonboon and other tools like Krita. I am definatly trying to use more open source.
